Jack Goodlad Rules – Sons of Beaches Annual Tournament SPN 2006 handbook rules except as outlined below
Lost or found items: If you find something give it to the convener ONLY or his appointed receiver. Do not take it home. If you have lost something contact the convener. No warm ups allowed on infield. - No infield allowed after the first inning. No Grace period. Be ready 15 minute ahead in case there is an early start. Time limits: - Games are 7 innings or 1 hour and 10 minutes maximum time. No new inning after 1 hour. Ties allowed during round robin, but Final games will be played to a winner. (Mercy rule in effect.) Extra innings - last batter starts at 2nd base. Mercy Rule - +10 runs after 5 innings Unlimited Batting order - If a void is created in the batting order by a player removed due to an injury, go to the next batter without an out penalty. Once an injured player has been removed from the batting order, they can not re-enter the game. If a void in the batting order is created for any reason other than injury and no substitution is available, then an automatic out will be recorded when the player is due to bat. Default A default will be declared if a team falls below 8 players. A team may start or end a game with 8 or more players and may add late players to the bottom of the batting order up until the 5th inning of the first game. No out penalty for playing with less than 10 players. Maximum TEN (10) players on the field at any time Waiver - All persons on the playing field must have signed and turned in a readable waiver. Home Team - denoted by coin toss. Commitment Line in effect. Tagging behind commitment line is allowed. A home plate mat will be used. The pitching arc will be 6 to 12 feet. Courtesy Runners: a maximum of seven (7) - all divisions. Runner can run only once per game. Anticipation step allowed, after ball crosses the plate. No Protest – Umpire decisions are final SPN Registration Each team must be registered by SPN. Registration can be made at the park. Bats see current ASA list of banned bats and bat policy. Use of a band bat will result in ejection of the player and game default. If you have a concern show your bat to the Ump.

Note: The above tie breaking criteria will cover both a balanced (every team plays each other) or an unbalanced (teams do not play every team) schedule.
If the teams are in different
groups (no common opponents), ignore "involving common opponents".
