Dues -   Uniform cost     Joining Procedure - Membership Categories

Dues: -     All fees/dues are paid by April end (May 1).

  1. No pro-rating, joining mid season has the same cost as in the spring.

  2. New active members pay an addition fee above the membership cost. This is to cover uniform expense and they are given a Shirt, hat and sometimes other parts of our uniform of the day.

  3. Dues for membership and uniform costs are set by the executive each new season.

    Joining procedures for Sons of Beaches® membership.

    New probationary member

    1. Beaches are a +50 yr group. A member must turn 50 years or more during the current calendar year and there is no upper limit.

    2. A new member must be nominated by an existing full member in good standing.
    3. The first season is a probation trial period.
    4. After the probation period has passed there is an acceptance vote presented to the general membership. Two or more negative votes voids membership.

    Types of memberships        (see reapplying for membership)

    Full (active) Membership

    1. Plays in a minimum of 2 tournament each year and pays full fees

    2. Has full voting privileges. –  see constitution for more detail

    Life Member:

    1.  No dues

    2. Has full voting rights.

    3. There are only 5 Sons of Beaches life members at this time and we are a very old club.

    These are: Bill Lafave, Bill Stedman, Art Edmunds, Moe Galand and Don Abram.  Bren Maxwell was a life member, but passed from us on Nov 25 2003.   (See meet members – on CD) and on this website for a bio-sketch and photo ID.

    Associate Member - Non voting member

    1. Playing in 2 or more ‘SoB” tournaments in the season will move these to active status and full dues are required.

  4. Associate Member is rare and there must be some extenuating circumstance as to why the member can not fill their roll as an active member. Illness or injury may account for some of this, however, each case will be considered individually by the Executive Board.
